Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations & Visiting

Do I need a reservation?

A reservation is required on Mondays and Fridays. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays you may visit without a reservation, but entry may be limited depending on how busy we are, so a reservation is recommended.

Can I eat as many mikan as I like?

Yes. While you are in the orchard, mikan picking is all-you-can-eat with no time limit.

How long can we stay?

There is no time limit. Most guests stay around 1 hour; guests who take their time often stay about 1.5 hours.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Yes. Letting us know by the day before is appreciated, but we can also accept changes on the day itself, with no cancellation fee. If you booked through Jalan, Jalan’s own terms will apply.

Payment

How do I pay?

On the day, payment is by cash only at a ticket machine (1,000 yen notes and coins only; no credit cards on site). If you would like to pay online in advance, please book through Jalan.

Visiting Tips

What should I bring?

You don’t need to bring anything special — scissors for picking are provided free of charge. The ground can be muddy, so please wear shoes (and clothes) you don’t mind getting dirty. We do not have shoes or gloves available to lend.

Can I eat the kiwis right away?

Freshly picked kiwis need about 2–3 weeks to ripen, so they can’t be eaten on the spot. Each harvest pack includes 2 ready-to-eat kiwis and a ripening agent for the rest.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking is available right next to the orchard.

What is the nearest station?

Yugawara Station. Please see our Access page for directions by car, taxi and bus.
